To-Do List for WhatsApp
UX/UI Project
This feature aims to integrate task management into the widely used messaging platform, addressing the needs of users who currently rely on separate applications for this purpose.
Research
The research began with a survey to understand user habits regarding daily task management. Key questions included:
-
Do you manage a day-to-day list of assignments?
-
Which applications do you use for managing your tasks?
Findings
-
Task Management Habits: A significant majority (94%) of participants reported that they manage day-to-day tasks using some form of a list.
-
Preferred Applications: The most commonly used applications for task management were WhatsApp, Notes, and Google Keep.
-
Types of Lists Managed: Participants predominantly manage shopping lists, specifically grocery shopping lists.
-
Usage Patterns: Two distinct user groups emerged:
-
Individuals who manage lists independently, often sending messages to themselves on WhatsApp.
-
Users who create lists to share with others.
-

This comparison shows how WhatsApp currently stacks up against Apple Notes and Google Keep in terms of features relevant to note-taking and task management. As of now, WhatsApp does not support typical note-taking or checklist features, which is a gap your proposed To-Do List feature aims to fill.
